11. Research
a. Encourage development of research to determine if Lyme Disease is sexually transmitted
b. Develop an accurate test "Golden Test": for Lyme Disease that is proven by Double-blind controlled studies
c. Research using animal testing
d. pursue support from Pharmaceuticals
e. Establish a definition of the length of "long term antibiotic treatment" in the medical community
f. Financially support the Columbia Lyme Disease Research Center-Dr. Brian Fallon
12. Reporting of Lyme Disease Cases
a. Need physician accountability for reporting Lyme Disease - A way to check to make sure all cases are reported (doctor to state health department, state health department CDC) which can be legally enforced
b. Need Legal Accountability for failure to report - By litigation and legislation
c. Determine complexity of CDC report and support changes to allow reporting process to be minimally burdensome for the physician.
d. Address confidentiality issue with insurance companies by supporting legislation that would prohibit their unnecessary access of medical records
13. Establish a National Sanctuary/Care Facility
a. Costa Rica - where treatment can be administered without doctors losing their licenses
